Lisa feels that doing art is a form of meditation that allows her to be totally in the present. At the core of her work is a search for ways to express the interaction between mankind and the natural world. Art is also a way of expressing her deepest inner feelings and a time when she enters new dimensions and finds new ways of seeing. She is able to bring her invisible dreams to life through her unique shapes and forms. For Lisa, this experience can often bring profound joy and a deeper connection to the natural world. Lisa is now showing her art for others to experience, and is moved when other people participate. |

I was born in Washington D.C., and moved to Arizona with my family when I was eleven years old. Between 1965-68 I studied liberal and fine arts at the University of Arizona. For the last twelve years, I have been painting and taking workshops with well known watercolorists and artists including Josh Goldberg and Ellen Fountain. I have entered and had work accepted for many juried shows from the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild Annual Show to the Tubac Center for the Arts shows, as well as juried shows for The Drawing Studio. Shows I have been in since 1999 include: Soft Opening, All Members Show, Artist Choice, Figure Show, Little Gems (The Watercolor Gallery); Chiaroscuro (Tubac Center of the Arts); Trees (Stillwell Twigg). Fidelity Title of Tucson has several of my pieces in their private collection at their River Road office, and in January 2004, one of my pieces was featured in a news article for Outside II show at the Casa Grande Art Museum. For a young artist (in painting years), I have accomplished much, and I am looking forward to accomplishing much more! |
